Common questions
Is the food safe to eat?
Shops list stock that is close to its date, and each listing shows the last day the shop says it is good to use. YallaStock does not inspect anything, so check the date and the item itself before you buy, and store it as the packaging says.
Do I buy through the website?
No. You pay the shop directly, at the counter; we never take payment. With an account you can claim an offer: you get a code that stays active for up to two hours, and the shop scans it when you pick up. Claiming doesn't hold the item, so it is still first come, first served.
Why do I need an account?
Not for browsing. An account lets you claim offers and have a public profile, and lets a shop list stock.
What if I don't pick up a claim?
It stays on your public profile as claimed but not picked up. Three in 30 days pause claiming for 7 days. If the item sells out or the shop takes it down before you arrive, the claim is cancelled and does not count.
Who can review a shop?
Only a shopper who claimed an offer there and picked it up, once per pickup, and a person approves each review before it shows. So every review on YallaStock comes from someone who went. Pickups also earn XP, which sets the level shown on your profile.
Why is the feed asking for my location?
So it can put the closest shops first and let you filter out anything further than you are willing to travel. You can say no on the first screen, or change your mind from the preferences link in the footer. The coordinates are rounded and stay in a cookie on your device.
How do I change the language or switch to miles?
Open Preferences at the bottom of any page. The same screen holds your language, your distance units, your location choice, and your cookie choice.
The item was gone when I got there.
It happens: another shopper got there first and the shop had not removed the listing yet. Tell us which listing through the form above if a shop does it repeatedly.
A listing looked dishonest. What happens?
Report it through the form above, with the listing and the shop. Every shop agrees at signup to be accountable and honest for its listings; a false one can get the account suspended, which pulls the shop and all of its stock off the site.
How do I list my shop's stock?
Register at the List your stock link with your opening hours, pick your address from the suggestions so the map is right, verify your email, and wait for a person to approve the store. Approval unlocks the dashboard where you add items.
Why is my store still pending?
Every store is reviewed by a person before it goes live. If it has been more than a couple of days, write to us with the form above and we will look.
How do I delete my account?
From your account page: we email you a code, and after it one button deletes the account (for a shop, with its store and listings). A shopper's orders and reviews stay, without their name, so shops keep their history.
